2008-Oct: Our First Travel Adventure @ Tokyo Part I

Dear readers, I finally have something worthy to blog about that is greater than Manchester United winning the premier league for 07/08....

... and that is my awesome honeymoon at Tokyo, Japan!!

WARNING: HUNDRED OF PHOTOS

Day 0: Flight to Tokyo (2300 hr Singapore Time)

We boarded the new A380 and sat at the upper deck of the plane. It was really clean, spacious and the inflight system is much faster and better image quality.

I watched Little Mermaid, slept a little and continue to plan the itinerary for the trip.

Being a very relax person, I dislike tour groups, dislike rushing many places in a few days.
True you get to see everything, but did you really have enough time to really enjoy them?
For me, I like to just remain in the same city and explore all that I can with the limited time I have, and true enough... 1 week is not enough to explore the city of Tokyo. (maybe becos I am slow.. haha)

Day 1: Arriving at Tokyo, Check in Hotel, Rainbow Bridge

We reached at around 7am, Tokyo Time and the skies are very bright but cloudy.

We were expecting some kind of cold weather but to our surprised it is actually not cold at all. Sianz for me cos I go and pack all sort cold wear in my luggage.

We arrived at our hotel, Century Southern Tower Hotel around 9am.
It is a nice decent hotel with a great view and great location. Couldn't really ask for more for the price we paid for the hotel. :)
As it is not time to check in yet, we left our baggages with the conceirge and went to walk around the area around our hotel.

Takashimaya and Times Square is right opp our hotel and so we went in for a quick look. Honestly everything else is the same in Singapore (at least for me cos I dun really like shopping for clothes, bags or shoes)
But the toys there are really nice and good quality. =D

We grab our first bite in Tokyo at this place called Freshness Burger.
Yes, it is ironic that we ended up eating American food in Japan but the reason is because the path we walked is super not happening with hardly any shops around.
(For a moment I thought I was being deceived by the information in the internet, who claimed that the streets of Shinjuku has lots of good food)

After the meal, we went back to the hotel to unpack and take a short nap. Haha..told ya we are very relax holiday goers.
It is really nice to sleep with such a nice view.

Our itinerary for Day 01 is very simple, visit the Rainbow Bridge and explore the areas around it. We wanted to go during sunset time, but we didnt expect the sun to set so early, so by the time we reached there, it was dark already (even though it was only 5-6pm)

Being adventurous, we decide to free and easy the entire trip despite not knowing the language. It was a bit difficult at first because of the very complicated train system, but after a few days we are experts already. (self proclaim)

We wanted to eat Japanese for dinner, but because we wanted to eat with the view of the Rainbow Bridge plus to eat with comfort, we chose Sizzler...haahaahaaa.. but the food is great.
Yes I know once again very LOL to eat Sizzler's in Japan and therefore the both of us resolve to eat Japanese food for the rest of the trip.

There are many attractions around the Okinarawa area (theme park, shopping malls, tokyo dome) but because of the lack of time and interest in those areas, we only visit a specific part of the place.
Being only interested in shopping for cute and quirky things, it was great to shop for such things in Japan. Overall I gave day 01 a 7/10.
